Nexans now provides environmental data via 2BA

Nexans is proud to announce that it now makes environmental data for nearly all of its products available through 2ba, the central data hub for the installation sector. With this step, we support installation companies in meeting the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and strengthen our shared commitment to a sustainable future.

The importance of environmental data for installation companies

The CSRD requires companies to report transparently on the environmental impact of their activities, including the products they use. For installation companies, this means having insight into the environmental performance of the materials they apply. By making our environmental data available via 2ba, we help our partners meet these reporting obligations.

Active contribution to the 2ba initiative

Nexans has played an active role in the development of this initiative. In the start-up phase, we provided environmental data that served as a foundation for the project’s development. Thanks to this contribution, we are among the first group of suppliers to publish environmental data via the platform. We are proud of this pioneering role and of our collaboration with 2BA and other partners such as Techniek Nederland and Fedet.

Availability of environmental data

The environmental data Nexans provides via 2ba covers nearly our entire product portfolio. This data is also available on our website in the form of PEP EcoPassports. These EPD environmental product declarations, based on life cycle assessments (LCA), provide detailed information about the environmental impact of our products.

We are committed to keeping this information up to date and complete, so that installation companies always have access to the data they need for their sustainability reporting.

With this step, we strengthen our collaboration with the installation sector and take a collective step forward in the transition to a sustainable and climate-neutral future.
