Application

The MCO is designed to be a transition box or a drop box, indoor or outdoor, for optical distribution.

Main functions:

  • To connect optical main cables to distribution/ drop cables or patchcords.
  • To carry out optical connection through connectors and splices.
  • To protect splices and bare fibres from the environment and unwanted handlings.
 

 

  • To secure the optical connection by anchoring the cable, managing fiber overlength, ensuring the fibre radius, fixing the splices, while allowing re-accessing.

Product usage

Cabling configuration

  • Incoming optical cables can be terminated or Mid-Span accessed and spliced to single optical fibre drops.
  • MCO allow bare fibre, micro-sheet or optical cords coiling. Up to 4 fusion or mechanical splices can be stored in the integrated tray.

 

Security

  • The opening of the outlet can be secured with a screw.

 


 

 

Wall mounting

  • Wall mounting is achieved by fixing the base plate directly on the wall (by mean of two screws provided).

Cable anchoring

  • Depending on the diameter, cables are fixed either directly in the body using U-shapes, or with tie raps using T-shapes of the body.

 

 

 

 

Cabling example:

- Main cable spliced to 4 pigtails
