Splice Closure DCSM2-OPGW The DCS OPGW is a dome shape metal closure designed for enclosing Aerial Optical Ground Wire, or Dielectric Cables.Particularly designed for steel towers, it can be installed on any aerial application.

Metal dome closure for Optical Ground Wires

  • 4 Multi-cable ports for OPGW or Dielectric cablesUp to 48 splices (4 trays) or 72 splices (1 FiberArt),
  • Up to 144 HS splices (2 FiberArt modules or 4 Standard splice trays),
  • Universal cable clamp,
  • Mechanical sealing system,
  • Watertight (IP68).



The main functions are :

 

  • Storage, identification and protection of splices and bare fibres from the environment and unwanted handlers.
  • Clamping and fan-out of OPGW and FO cables.

 

Description


Body :

  • The DCS OPGW is metal dome closure with thermoplastic or metal cable port.


Sealing system :

  • Cable sealing devices are based on a mechanical compression system : this allows to reuse all components for future upgrades or to reaccess to the closure.
  • The dome is sealed with a gasket and a metal ring that can be locked,
  • The body and the sealing system are completely watertight.


Cable capacity :

 

  • 4 cable port, each allowing up to 3 cables/tubes.


Fiber management :

  • Up to 4 Standard splice trays (12 splices each) or
  • Up to 2 FiberArt modules (12 splice trays each).

Trays and modules are stackable and additional capacity can be added after the first installation.


Cable anchoring :

 

  • OPGW Cables are anchored with universal cable clamps, suitable for cable diameters from 7.5 to 25mm,
  • Branching cables can be anchored with a metal ring.
