Description

Application

The @XS subscriber terminal outlet has been designed for FTTH networks, to terminate the operator network inside the subscriber’s home. It offers all needed connectivity interface with both copper and optical fibre.

The main functions are:
  • Manage the entrance cable from any direction.
  • Connect the input fibre until the output adapter while managing fibre overlengths, splices, pigtails and field connectors.
  • Ensure automatic protection of the eyes from the laser beam.
  • Fibre and copper are set apart, to prevent from any damage on the fibre when handling the copper pairs.

Product usage

Outlet description:

The outlet is made of (from the left to the right):

  • A cable winding kit for built-in installation (as an option),
  • an equipped base,
  • and a lid.
 

Cable stowage and management:

  • For built-in outlets, a cable winding kit is provided. It is integrated inside the built-in box and is fixed using 2 screws positioned on a 60mm diameter. It ensures the cable radius before entering the @XS outlet base.
    This device leaves enough space for the copper pairs at the back of the built-in box.
  • For projecting outlets, the cable enters by the left, by the right or by the bottom of the base.
    When entering the outlet, the cable is first coiled at the rear of the outlet. This coiling step creates a cable overlength that can be useful in case of renovation to take the outlet off the wall. Then, the cable is stowed in the front face of the base with a plastic collar.

Security and comfort: 

The outlet integrates a flip that automatically shuts down when the optical plug is pulled off, in order to protect the eye from the laser beam. To preserve the subscriber’s interior, the outlet is fitted with an automatic system hiding the optical plug and the adapter, both blue or green.

Wall fixing: 

The built-in outlet is fixed with 2 screws on the rear winding kit.
The projecting outlet is fixed on the wall with 2 screws and bushings.

Fibre management and connection:

When the cable is fixed, the outlet can manage 250µm and 900µm fibre, with a minimum bending curve of 20mm.
2 mechanical or fusion splices can be stored. The outlet can also manage a field mechanical connector.
